He made Slate It Media an open, creative, safe, and non-discriminating space for learning and developed opportunities for young aspiring filmmakers and crew, regardless of their ethnicity, beliefs, disabilities, and part in the LGBTQ+ community. Even aliens and robots!
Taking inspiration from Steven Spielberg, Daniel ensures that his produced films are made solely for the audience’s entertainment and benefit, as well as the Slate It Media crew whose happiness and enjoyment when he teaches the skills makes him proud.

Daniel Dunn has worked in the film industry for over 13 years, successfully building and owning Slate It Media over 3 years and creating jump start opportunities for young, aspiring filmmakers and crew.
Born and raised in British Columbia, Daniel took a chance and moved to Toronto, finally fitting in and connecting to the people and the culture. Being able to express himself creatively massively impacted his career and his journey in success in the film industry.
In his own volition and willingness to learn on the field from set professionals, Daniel learned all the different set jobs and responsibilities. After working on various sets, he learned to direct and produce.
